Returning to South Bank this weekend is the popular Regional Flavours. A highlight in Brisbane’s food event calendar.
With an array of captivating presentations and discussions as well as opportunities for more immersive, adventurous exploration of food trends and techniques, Regional Flavours is the perfect mid-winter event for foodies of all persuasions.
Producers from different regions all around Queensland will be showcasing their finest foods and drinks. This free event has a lot on offer for everyone with demonstrations and presentations from food celebrities and chefs at the Epicurious Tent to the Food Imaginarium, a magical and interactive centre for children to explore food in a fun and exciting way.
If you’re thirsty, The Hunting Club will be able to help quench your thirst as you discover all about boutique beers (and cider)! Learn some new techniques and master the art of American-style beef BBQ smoking at the Smokehouse Beef stage.
I’m most keen for the Gourmet Food Trucks with offerings from many of South Bank’s restaurants. The trend of food on the go is hotter than ever! I’m definitely making sure I save space for the $8 tasting plate offerings from the River Quay‘s award winning restaurants. Here‘s a menu of what River Quay will be offering on the day. The Appleton rum and cola pork belly sliders from Cove Bar and Dining is definitely one I’ll have to get my hands on!
Inbetween all the tasting and the sipping, there’s plenty of live music entertainment throughout the day!
Check out the Regional Flavours website for event details over the whole weekend.
A map (download it here) is always handy to make sure you make the most of the day and don’t miss anything!
Hint: get in early to beat the crowds. Also catch a bus or train in as there’ll be lots of road closures!
