Crowbar & 5 dogs

There’s a few bars around Brisbane offering food from their own kitchen. But it’s not always easy to find people who want to work in a small bar kitchen, those who work in a bar may not have the time to develop a menu, likewise, those in a small food business may want to expand but not have the means to find a brand new venue.  In a time when restaurants are closing left, right and centre (RIP Ortiga, Bistro One Eleven, Piaf and Sardine Tin), what a smart idea for local businesses to start teaming up together!

Over the next week or so, I’m going to feature a few of my favourite collaborations of bars and food vendors.

First up..

Crowbar have teamed up with the vegan-friendly guys from 5 dogs.

Why bother having to leave this venue to get food and deal with the drunken mess outside in the Valley when you can get food WITH your drink? Nothing says “responsible adult” more than eating food while drinking.

Offering 6 favourites from their full menu you’ll be spoilt for choice – with choices even for vegetarians and vegans! Choose from:

Original dog, German dog, Chilli Dog, Beef ‘n’ Gravy dog, Vegan NYC dog and Vegan German dog.

No more will you have to get a quickly prepared and messy kebab or greasy slice of pizza as you walk to a venue only to drop half its contents to watch some amazing punk/hardcore/metal bands.

Food available every night Crowbar is open AND is available all night long from 8pm to 3am! These guys have just been approved to open until 3am on weeknights too! Providing drinks, rad tunes and now food all night!

Keep an eye out for upcoming specials 😉 a particularly enticing 2-4-1 dogs and drinks might be starting 8pm on a Tuesday, very soon. Follow them on Twitter and Facebook.

The $13 Pabst Blue Ribbon and Original Dog deal sounds like a real weiner. Gourmet hot dogs with trimmings from $5.50.

After all, who wouldn’t love walking down those dark stairs, the smell of sauerkraut guiding you, the fuzz of guitars being tuned, drawing you in as your eyes adjust to the light?

Thursday – Saturday
8pm – 3am
243 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley
