Who doesn’t love sweet, sticky caramelised pork? Hoisin sauce is a sweet sauce packed full of spices and fermented soy bean. It’s one of my favourite Asian sauces.
By chopping up the meat into pieces, you can cook the pork even faster and they become convenient mouth-sized! Bite-sized food means you can eat your dinner with just one piece of cutlery (fork/spoon). Or better yet, just use the superior eating utensil – chopsticks!
Hoisin roasted pork spare ribs
3 tbs hoisin sauce + 1 1/2 tbs of light soy sauce + 1 tsp sesame oil + chopped pork spare ribs + ~30min in 210°C oven =

Chop them up larger-than-mouth sized as the meat pieces will shrink in size as they roast.
Eat with steamed rice and Asian greens for a simple, delicious meal. Use any leftover sauce to pour over rice.
Mix in some fresh chopped birds eye chilli with the marinade for extra heat!
This also makes impressive party food – chuck it into a big bowl with roughly chopped cucumber just before serving and toss together. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Hoisin + cucumber + pork is another great combination!
